Who is Tara Well?

Dr. Tara Well is a professor of psychology at Barnard College in Columbia University where she teaches classes on personality, motivation, health, and women’s leadership.

She recently developed a mirror-based meditation called, “a revelation” in The New York Times. Tara has worked with hundreds of people to teach them how to use the mirror to transform judgments about appearance, develop self-confidence and self-compassion, and reduce stress.  She is now exploring how we can use mirrors and reflections to manage our attention and emotions.

Her research on motivation and perception has been funded by National Institute of Mental Health and National Science Foundation and published in top psychology journals.
